Job Summary
Plan and direct learning activities for adult incarcerated students, follow the Windham School District curriculum, and supervise classroom activities. Maintain lesson plans, attendance records, and student progress, administer and interpret diagnostic and achievement tests, and adapt instructional methods to meet student needs. Requires SBEC certification and a Bachelor’s degree; involves working with incarcerated learners, maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality, coordinating with district policies, and using prescribed curriculum guides and TEA/WSD procedures. Proficiency in organizing, documenting, and reporting instructional activities, assessments, and student performance targets. Maintain a positive classroom environment and collaborate with staff to achieve district objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- SBEC certification for area of assignment
- Elementary or Secondary level certification in a foundation subject area
- Ability to work remotely with personal technology
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience in classroom instruction and assessment
- Confidential handling of sensitive information
- Professional conduct and ethics per state requirements
