Job Summary
Provide instructional support in classrooms across all content areas and grade levels, assisting teachers in delivering standards-aligned instruction through small-group, individualized, and whole-class support. Reinforce academic concepts, provide targeted interventions, and support implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodations. Serve as the school's primary substitute teacher during staff absences, delivering lesson plans while maintaining instructional pacing and documenting activities. Build positive, respectful relationships with students using trauma-informed and restorative practices to encourage persistence and engagement. Participate in professional learning communities, assist with school-wide testing administration, and prepare instructional materials while following all safety and security procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
Desired Qualifications
- Paraprofessional certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience serving as a substitute teacher or instructional assistant across multiple content areas
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with at-risk youth, justice-involved youth, or students in alternative educational settings
