Job Summary
Provide specialized instruction as outlined in student IEPs, manage support services based on general academic expectations, and maintain a quiet, orderly, and productive atmosphere. Offer appropriate information and materials, provide technological support, and maintain regular contact with parents via phone, meetings, or writing. Consult with classroom teachers regarding accommodations and strategies, provide feedback on academic and social expectations, support students on specific assignments, and attend team meetings as necessary. Write IEPs, produce quarterly progress reports, provide testing accommodations for standardized tests, and keep accurate attendance records.
Required Qualifications
- BA degree
- ability to pass a background check (CORI/SORI & Fingerprinting)
- computer literate
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Certification in Special Education 9-12 or ability to obtain within one year
- Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
- Experience working with middle school students
- Interest or experience in the arts
