Job Summary
Implement The St. James Performance Academy's academic policies to ensure a structured, success-driven learning environment for student-athletes. Deliver subject-specific support aligned with personalized learning plans while facilitating rigorous academics through the blended curriculum. Monitor, evaluate, and communicate student progress to families and leadership through structured reporting channels. Meet individually and in small groups to review content, clarify concepts, and support assignment completion. Assist in developing Student-Athlete Development Plans and provide guidance on study strategies, executive functioning, and goal setting. Adapt support strategies to varied learning styles, maintain accurate confidential records, and collaborate with academic and athletic staff to ensure continuity. Support classroom management, reinforce academic routines, and participate in family engagement events and Shadow Days. Contribute to ongoing development of academic programming and resources.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field preferred
- Experience working with student-athletes or in a performance-focused academic environment strongly preferred
- Familiarity with K-12 academic standards and student support services
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to collaborate across departments and with families
- Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and data integrity
- Ability to mentor and support students with empathy, structure, and high expectations
- Flexible and willing to engage in evening/weekend programming as needed
