Job Summary
Facilitate individual and group academic coaching sessions to support learning, strengthen cognitive skills, and foster academic development for graduate and medical professional students. Provide one-on-one coaching on study strategies, test-taking approaches, and licensing exam preparation while assisting in planning orientation programs and developing workshops to enhance student community and professional skills. Collaborate regularly with faculty across health professions programs to identify support opportunities and provide referrals to university departments for mental health and accommodations. Maintain accurate records of individuals and groups utilizing Academic Support Services while modeling the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity through transformative education and leadership through service.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree required in psychology, counseling, education, or related field
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University
- Adheres to Marian University's policies and procedures
- Shows courtesy and respect in interactions with fellow employees, students subordinates, and supervisors
- Excellent verbal, written, collaborative, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple projects concurrently, and work under minimal supervision
- Understanding of Student Affairs/Student Development and effective practices in learning strategy
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a counseling, education, academic support, or tutoring setting within an institution of higher education
- Previous experience working with graduate and professional students
- Doctorate degree and/or experience in higher education or medical education setting
