Job Summary
Full-time Academic Success Coach II at Texas A&M University–Kingsville focuses on supporting participants to develop skills and motivation to complete secondary and postsecondary education. Responsibilities include student advising, academic support, case management, and coordination of program activities such as workshops, resource fairs, and summer components. Travel to target counties to meet with participants regarding academic progress, college readiness, and career preparation. Provides goal-oriented advising on college admissions, financial aid, and scholarship requirements; helps students understand degree requirements and the relationship between majors and careers; maintains accurate student records and supports program outcomes. Collaborates with partners to recruit participants and coordinate events; supports data management and reporting to satisfy grant requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of related experience in student support services, advising, or educational programs
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to communicate orally and in writing; ability to present
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and diverse groups
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple responsibilities
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and office software
