Job Summary
Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care for the Internal Medicine patient population. Assume full accountability for clinical decision-making during service, including maintaining a private office as applicable. Provide scheduled office appointments and after-hours call coverage for patients of the practice, and coordinate call coverage by other medical staff for holidays, vacations, and other approved time off. Serve as an advisor in development and implementation of operational and administrative policies for the practice, including purchasing, capital planning, managed care participation, budgeting, Medicare/Medicaid participation, billing and collections, personnel policies, and practice management decisions. Maintain responsibility for risk management, quality assurance, and coding/documentation compliance activities. Ensure clinical documentation meets regulatory, payer, and institutional standards and participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Participate in community and professional service activities, including speaking engagements, educational programs, writing, and special clinical initiatives. Support the academic mission through collaboration, professionalism, and mentorship as applicable. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice and organization. There is emphasis on the hospital’s affiliation with SLUCare and Saint Louis University School of Medicine, residency programs in Internal Medicine, and the hospital’s accolades and services in the St. Louis area.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Internal Medicine residency training
