Job Summary
Academic Instructor duties include prescribing individual and/or group lessons in Reading, Mathematics, Workplace Communications, Employability Skills, Health Education, Driver’s Education or GED; conducting instruction in a regular classroom; promoting a positive classroom atmosphere; maintaining discipline and student rapport; coordinating curriculum development with Career Technical Education instructors; utilizing curricular resources; preparing for classes; maintaining student records (attendance, test scores, evaluations, etc.); contributing to student evaluations and employability outcomes; participating in graduation exercises; complying with safety and regulatory guidelines; modeling employability skills and participating in mandated staff training. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in education and 1–2 years of related education experience, and certification to teach in Kentucky.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education from a four-year college or university and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certified to teach in State of KY (may be waived by Regional Office, but must pursue certification)
- Valid Kentucky State Drivers License
- Minimum of one to two years related experience in education
