Job Summary
Manage faculty appointments, annual performance reviews, and separations for the School of Dentistry's academic personnel. Prepare appointment packets for the APT Committee, draft dean's recommendations, and update Workday for all employment changes. Coordinate second-year and multi-year reappointment reviews, manage sabbatical leave, and process retiree rehire requests. Track mandatory promotion due dates, support the APT Committee with agenda preparation and meeting notes, and maintain faculty electronic records. Ensure compliance with UW Academic Personnel and Faculty procedures while generating reports for leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Four years of progressively responsible human resources experience
- Two years' experience working in higher education or academic healthcare settings
- Knowledge of federal, state and local employment regulations
- Experience interpreting complex policies
- Ability to communicate sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, work independently and collaboratively, and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail is necessary
- Computer software skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Acrobat, SharePoint)
- Familiarity with academic personnel employment lifecycle
- Understanding of faculty governance
- Experience using Workday and Interfolio
