Job Summary
Academic Guidance Lead based at Bundaberg Rural Clinic within the Rural Clinical School. This teaching-focused role provides specialised academic advice to MD students using a step-care approach, delivering high-quality academic leadership, remediation and career guidance, while supporting student development and inclusivity. Responsibilities include teaching and supporting the progression of MD students across all four years, pursuing research and scholarship, supervising and developing student capabilities, and contributing to the Learning Community with a strong emphasis on collaboration, collegiality, and alignment with UQ values. The role requires a medical qualification and eligibility for registration in Australia (AHPRA), plus experience in student support and clinical supervision, teaching at undergraduate/postgraduate levels, and knowledge of medical education. It involves engaging with external partners, effective communication, and commitment to rural/regional work contexts. Required Qualifications
- Medical qualification and eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia with AHPRA
- Experience in student support and/or clinical supervision of medical students
- Demonstrated skills in education at undergraduate, postgraduate or professional level
- Demonstrated ability to engage in the scholarship of teaching and learning
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and manage relationships in an academic environment
- High level communication and interpersonal skills for working with students and external partners
