Job Summary
Conduct inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynecologic care, including rounding on antepartum and postpartum patients, managing benign gynecology teams, and providing consultations to emergency and family practice providers. Supervise resident physicians and medical students in various clinical settings, with teaching responsibilities for six residents annually. Participate in quality and safety initiatives, clinical informatics, and research activities within a high-volume, growing labor and delivery unit. Manage in-house and back-up call responsibilities overnight and on weekends.
Required Qualifications
- medical degree (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO)
- completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- ABOG board eligible/certified
- licensure eligibility by the Iowa Board of Medicine
- licensure by the Iowa Board of Medicine before commencement of employment
- excellent clinical and surgical skills
- excellent skills in patient management
- strong oral and written communication skills
- demonstrated teaching skills
- commitment to team culture
- in-house and back-up call responsibilities overnight and on weekends
Desired Qualifications
- interest and/or background experience in vulvar vaginal diseases
- pediatric adolescent gynecology
- pelvic pain
- clinical research interest in obstetrics and gynecology
