Job Summary
Academic Director, Child Crisis Services leads educational operations for residents in a PRTF setting, ensuring instruction meets state standards and coordinating with clinical/behavioral teams to align education with treatment plans. Responsibilities include hiring/onboarding teaching staff, maintaining curriculum compliance, monitoring academic progress, ensuring timely documentation, coordinating with speech and OT services, supervising teachers, maintaining safety and crisis procedures, providing training, and supporting licensing processes with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Requires a Masters in Education or related field, NC Special Education teaching license (EC General Curriculum or Cross-Categorical, K–12), and supervisory experience; driving/travel may be required. Required Qualifications
- Masters in Education or related field
- Valid teaching license in Special Education: EC General Curriculum (K–12) or Cross-Categorical (K–12) - NC Department of Public Instruction
- Three years of teaching experience with progressing experience
- One year of supervisory/leadership experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance
- Experience with youth having mental health or substance use disorders
