Job Summary
Provide on-site direct support to students and staff, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment through interventions, transportation, and community resource connections. Facilitate academic and social-emotional growth by assisting teachers, managing accommodations, and championing assessment participation. Monitor attendance data to identify non-engaged students, conduct home visits, and collaborate with regional leadership for truancy documentation. Maintain daily student communication, document progress reports, and participate in daily team huddles to define responsibilities. Transport students for school activities using a certified vehicle while adhering to all state laws and school policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must reside in Colorado
- Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent (e.g., the GED)
- Demonstrate subject matter competency by: a. Earning an Associate (or higher) degree; or b. Completing at least two years (48 credit hours) of study at an institution of higher education OR c. Passing a formal assessment measuring one's knowledge of and ability to assist classroom teachers in reading, writing, and mathematics
- Must be able to maintain a regular on-site presence
- Possess and share a general knowledge of GOAL Academy's extra-curricular activities and student opportunities
- Must work all scheduled calendar days in Colorado
- Two years of experience working with youth preferred
- Two years of experience working with students in a secondary school or school system preferred
- Experience working with at risk youth preferred
- Bilingual preferred but not required
