Job Summary
Academic Coaches meet with students on a one-on-one basis to help each student achieve success in college, focusing on acclimation to the college environment, goal setting, academic skills, study strategies, time management, and overcoming academic challenges. Responsibilities also include facilitating group workshops, collaborating with faculty and staff, and participating in ongoing training and development through CRLA certification and focused training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Earned bachelor’s degree
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine desire to help others learn, achieve success, and reach goals
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience in academic coaching, academic advising, tutoring, teaching, counseling, or related areas
- Knowledge of common challenges encountered by community college students
