Job Summary
Academic Coach provides academic, social and emotional learning support to Upward Bound scholars. Responsibilities include conducting individual or group sessions, assessing learning needs, developing academic success plans to help students achieve goals, teaching individualized strategies for time management, organization, goal setting, note-taking, test-taking, and reading/writing, monitoring progress through regular check-ins, and motivating students to practice self-regulation and self-advocacy while helping them identify and implement discipline-specific study skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience in the Educational field
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Additional Requirements
- CT State Community College cannot sponsor work visas
