Job Summary
Academic Cardiologist with expertise in cardiovascular imaging (echocardiography and cardiac MRI) sought by VA Providence Healthcare System in collaboration with Brown University. Responsibilities include expert cardiovascular-imaging care, inpatient and outpatient clinical duties, impactful research and manuscript publication, pursuit of research funding, and teaching/mentoring of medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees. Develop and deliver educational programs and participate in curriculum development and interdisciplinary committees to enhance clinical and research operations. Eligible for an academic appointment at Brown University at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Qualifications include MD or DO, board certification in Cardiology, full medical license, and US citizenship; a recruitment or relocation incentive may be available. CME reimbursement up to $1,100/year; competitive salary with potential bonus; substantial paid time off and the VA Education Loan Repayment Program are offered.
Required Qualifications
- US citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)
- M.D. or D.O.
- Board certification in Cardiology
- Full active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state
- Completion of a residency in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
