Job Summary
Provide academic and career advising to current, new, and transfer students throughout the year, supporting their decision-making process and educational plans. Assist undecided students in selecting a program of study, mapping degree completion paths, and interpreting test scores or prior credits. Facilitate communication with students on academic probation, suspension, or financial aid warnings to increase retention, while connecting them with counseling, disability services, and job preparation resources. Participate in New Student Orientation activities, deliver training for part-time and faculty advisors, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent problem solving, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Customer and solutions oriented with a strong commitment to customer service while maintaining compliance with policies
- Commitment to the mission of a comprehensive two-year college and an understanding of the different components of a student services operation
- Must be able to articulate and execute public speaking at a level students can understand and learn
- Must be flexible and willing to work longer hours during peak times
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
