Job Summary
Provide academic advising to facilitate students' successful and timely educational planning and degree completion in alignment with their educational and career goals. Serve as advisor for a designated caseload through proactive outreach, support, and education while monitoring student progress and developing graduation plans. Evaluate student needs to provide appropriate resource referrals and recommend actions related to academic alerts, probation, and dismissal. Utilize current advising technologies for outreach and collaborate with the UC advising community to advance quality advising practice. May lead a programmatic area of oversight, train new advisors, and supervise student workers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Zero (0) to one (1) year of student service or related experience
- Three (3) years of academic advising experience
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Experience directly related to college students or a related field higher education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to advise the diverse and varied student population
- Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work independently
