Job Summary
Academic Advisor for Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies provides comprehensive academic advising and program support for CPS learners across the global network. Responsibilities include managing an active caseload from admission through program completion, designing and delivering advising programs, tracking student progress and engagement, and ensuring adherence to ADA, FERPA, SEVIS, and other guidelines. The role requires frequent communication with students through multiple modalities, collaboration with campus and remote teams, and the use of data to monitor persistence, retention, and outcomes. Experience with Salesforce/Navigate and program assessment is preferred, along with the ability to support adult and international online learners. The position may involve on-campus work in Boston and remote project work, with occasional evenings/weekends required. The department emphasizes student success, experiential learning planning, and professional development within a fast-paced higher-education environment.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree (or equivalent work experience)
- 3 to 5 years professional experience in academic or student services environment or related area
- demonstrated ability to educate and support students in higher education
- experience with adult learners, international students, and online students a plus
- certifications in related fields considered a plus
- ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- proficiency with technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Banner, Navigate) and Microsoft Office
