Job Summary
To guide students through the initial part of their professional development in medicine with considerations given to students’ academic needs, goals, interests and prior education, along with available institutional and school support services. Responsibilities include assessing individual students’ study skills, identifying appropriate resources and making appropriate referrals for students perceived to be at risk; assisting students in the development of individualized educational plans; maintaining appropriate administrative documents; developing and promoting internal communication and resource sharing to promote student success; tracking the collective needs of students; providing recommendations for continuous improvement for all services related to academic advising; integrating best practices and technology aimed at improving student services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling or similar area
- three years of related experience
- Master’s degree preferred
