Job Summary
Guide assigned and walk-in students through program selection, enrollment, and financial aid processes while developing individualized Student Success Plans. Monitor student progression toward degree completion, resolve barriers to success, and assist with transfers and registration issues. Provide one-on-one advising for academic and career goals, track outcomes, and support recruitment efforts including off-site registrations and social media outreach. Work flexible schedules covering peak registration and weekends, utilizing the College's retention resources to enhance student satisfaction and completion rates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to education and/or student services
- two (2) years of related work experience
- Knowledge of student services, including managing, tracking, and supporting a significant student caseload from enrollment through degree/certification completion
- Knowledge of intrusive advising
- Knowledge of one-stop enrollment incorporating registration, financial aid, admissions, and similar support
- Skill in organizing, time management, and prioritizing
- Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications including using a student information system
- Skill in developing and delivering presentations
- Ability to provide accurate and sound academic and career advice
- Ability to be flexible, be creative in problem solving, maintain confidentiality, use sound judgement, collaborate with others, apply initiative, work independently as well as with others, provide sound advice, be discrete, and be self-motivated
- Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the students and the College (peak registration and weekends), including one evening per week and extended hours during peak registration
