Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, guide assigned and walk-in students through program selection, planning, and enrollment assistance while completing individualized Student Success Plans for each caseload. Monitor progression toward degree completion, assist with registration, financial aid, and billing, and proactively reach out to students falling behind in coursework. Resolve barriers to success by tracking referrals and ensuring positive outcomes, while supporting recruitment activities and utilizing social media for communication. Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends during peak registration to meet enrollment goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to education and/or student services
- Two (2) years of related work experience
- Knowledge of student services, including managing, tracking, and supporting a significant student caseload from enrollment through degree/certification completion
- Knowledge of intrusive advising
- Knowledge of one-stop enrollment incorporating registration, financial aid, admissions, and similar support
- Skill in organizing, time management, and prioritizing
- Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications including using a student information system
- Skill in developing and delivering presentations
- Ability to provide accurate and sound academic and career advice
- Ability to be flexible, be creative in problem solving, maintain confidentiality, use sound judgement, collaborate with others, apply initiative, work independently as well as with others, provide sound advice, be discrete, and be self-motivated
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to work evenings
- Ability to work extended hours during peak registration
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
