Job Summary
Academic Advisor I manages transfer student onboarding, provides first-semester advising, utilizes analytics and reporting to track transfer student caseload, and collaborates with college advising offices to support retention across FAU campuses (Boca Raton, Davie, Jupiter). Responsibilities include advising transfer students and high-credit FTICs, addressing general education requirements and prerequisites, coordinating transfer student scheduling, guiding curriculum and major decisions, and using advising/predictive analytics tools for outreach and tracking. May teach SLS transition courses and participate in cross-campus activities with occasional evenings and travel between campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse population, think critically and collaborate successfully with departments across the University required.
