Academic Advisor

Academic Advisor provides comprehensive academic guidance and enrollment support to students, advising on course selection and degree requirements, enrolling students in appropriate courses, and developing and implementing educational events to promote student development and retention. Responsibilities include assisting with academic planning, administering and coordinating placement tests, maintaining accurate student data records, monitoring student progress, conducting proactive outreach to at-risk students, developing intervention plans, responding to inquiries, and collaborating with university departments to provide comprehensive student support. Skills emphasized include strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, time management, organizational abilities, confidentiality, knowledge of academic policies and degree requirements, and proficiency with student information systems and standard office technology.
