Job Summary
Manage Project tutoring and study group programs by recruiting students, teaching professional development classes, and providing one-on-one counseling to 75 students. Assist in evaluating applications, administering diagnostic tools, and developing Individual Development Plans while overseeing purchasing authority up to $1,000. Coordinate workshops, job shadowing, and cultural trips while serving on campus committees. Requires a Master's degree in counseling or education, two years of advising experience, and ability to use technical computer applications. Will undergo Master Advisor Training. Located at Missouri Southern State University.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree (M. A. or M.S.) in counseling, education, reading, English, math, or an area related to basic skills from accredited four-year college or university
- Master's degree in progress with expectation of completing degree in two years
- At least 2 years experience in counseling, advising, or teaching in basic skills
- One-year experience working with college-age students
- Experience working with students who are low-income, academically disadvantaged, or who have disabilities
- Knowledge of Student Support Services/activities such as advising, counseling, assessment, career development, tutoring, financial aid, etc.

- Experience working in post-secondary setting
- Experience in supervising student staff
- A background similar to SSS students
