Job Summary
Provide foreign language support services, including transcription and translation/interpretation of non-technical material for military interrogations, intelligence collection, and operational missions. Deliver expert cultural and ethnic context regarding terms with multiple valid interpretations, and perform document exploitation, scanning, research, and analysis of intercepted data to extract key information. Supplement translations with specialized knowledge in fields such as medicine, engineering, or legal, while identifying components meeting military information requirement list criteria. Input findings directly into reports. Requires US citizenship, ILR level 3 proficiency in Amharic and English, and at least two years of interpretation/translation experience.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Minimum (2) years' experience of interpretation / translation
- Interagency Language Round Table (ILR) level 3 in both Target Language and English
- Document exploitation skills
- In-depth geo-political knowledge
