Job Summary
Abuse Hotline Counselor duties include providing telephone-based services to report alleged neglect/abuse/exploitation for children and adults in Kentucky, completing and filing reports via the State Web Portal, conducting case-follow-ups with State Child and Adult Protective Services, interviewing clients to gather information for intake referrals, documenting all interventions, screening for suicide/homicide risk and connecting high-risk callers to Crisis Intervention Counselors, and participating in training and education on abuse issues. The role requires remote work from the Greater Louisville area (part-time), 3rd shift and/or weekend/holiday hours, strong communication, confidentiality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Education requirement includes 60 hours of undergraduate coursework in related fields, with experience in social services/mental health preferred. Vaccination for COVID and influenza is required.
Required Qualifications
- 60 hours undergraduate coursework (or current undergraduate student status) in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Services, Business or a related field of study.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use technology to complete web reports.
- Ability to make sound decisions and judgments in stressful or unusual situations.
- Good time-management skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work remotely, including access to stable internet services;
