Absence Management Team Lead - Coding Team

Job Summary
Supervise multiple teams of examiners and technical staff for disability claims, delegating duties and monitoring individual claim activities. Provide technical and jurisdictional direction on claims adjudication, review reserve amounts for high-cost claims, and act as a second-level appeal for client and claimant issues. Compile and analyze management reports, perform quality reviews against audit requirements, and maintain diaries for complex or high-exposure claims. Ensure claims files are coded correctly and that direct reports hold proper jurisdictional licenses. Identify trends and problems to inform management of recommended course of action and coordinate with management projects for continuous process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Six (6) years of claims experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Licenses as required
- Thorough knowledge of claims management procedures and processes for disability
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
- Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
- Hearing, vision and talking
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Professional certifications as applicable to line of business preferred
- Two (2) years of claims supervisory experience preferred
