Job Summary
Lead and support a diverse team delivering community-based programs across Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Family Violence, and NDIS client services. Oversee Aboriginal Health Promotion and Cultural Programs while building a positive, culturally safe workplace. Work with community, staff, and stakeholders to identify needs and strengthen service delivery, leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs supporting social, emotional, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing. Manage program budgets, resources, reporting, and ensure compliance with funding, quality, and regulatory requirements. This 6-month fixed-term leadership role contributes to the strategic direction of AWAHS as it expands services and develops a new health precinct in Wodonga.
Required Qualifications
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity
- Strong cultural knowledge and connection to community
- Qualifications in social work, counselling, community services or a related area
- Substantial relevant management experience
- Strong leadership and people management experience
- A genuine understanding of the social, emotional, cultural and spiritual wellbeing needs of Aboriginal people and communities
- Experience leading community, health, wellbeing or social service programs
- The ability to mentor, develop and support staff
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with community and stakeholders
- Experience managing programs, budgets, funding requirements and service outcomes
Desired Qualifications
- Experience already working in Aboriginal health, social services, or another community focused organisation
