Job Summary

Aboriginal Health Practitioner to support YMK and ASAVI clinical trials, provide culturally appropriate primary health care, participate in cardiovascular health prevention programs, and engage with Aboriginal communities. Role involves clinical care, client education, referrals, recruitment for trials, data collection and maintaining records in Communicare and REDCap, and collaboration with GPs, nurses, researchers, and other health professionals.

Required Qualifications

  • Essential: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander pursuant to Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act
  • Essential: Certificate IV or Diploma in Aboriginal Health
  • Essential: AHPRA registration as an AHP not required
  • Desirable: Experience supporting research or clinical trial projects
  • Desirable: Experience delivering culturally safe health promotion around cardiovascular health, nutrition, physical activity, or smoking cessation
  • Desirable: Pre-employment requirements including Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance within 6 months, WA Driver’s Licence, and health assessment
