Job Summary
Conduct culturally sensitive health assessments and interventions for Aboriginal clients while developing tailored health promotion programs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and advocate for the health rights and needs of Aboriginal people within the healthcare system. Educate clients and their families about health issues and available services, maintaining accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organisational policies. Participate in community outreach activities to raise awareness of health services. This role supports the delivery of culturally responsive primary health services to over 20,000 Aboriginal patients across four clinics in East Perth, Mirrabooka, Maddington, and Midland.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Aboriginal Health practitioner
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice
- equivalent qualification from relevant industry/profession
- working towards Certificate IV in Primary Health
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities in a healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and health issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander pursuant to Section 50D of the Equal Employment Opportunities Act
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current National Police Clearance
- Valid Drivers' License
- willingness to travel as required
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
