Job Summary
Aboriginal Health Liaison Officer (Maternity) to deliver culturally safe, holistic perinatal care and health promotion to Aboriginal families. Role involves health education, advocacy, and support alongside midwives and multidisciplinary teams, using yarning and culturally appropriate communication to identify health needs, develop programs, and strengthen community engagement throughout the maternity journey.
Required Qualifications
- Current driver’s license (C or CA) and valid First Aid Certificate HLTAID011 or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Experience in clinical and cultural consultation and education
- Ability to implement Aboriginal health programs with collaboration across Aboriginal Health Team, mainstream organisation and Aboriginal communities
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and negotiation skills
