Job Summary
Execute general maintenance, repair, sanitation, and upkeep of exterior vessel areas, including painting, scraping, and surface preparation for verandas, balconies, and open decks. Maintain lifeboats, rescue boats, and emergency gear while performing fire patrols, mooring operations, and tendering duties under the Staff Captain's instructions. Ensure vessel seaworthiness and enforce safety, pollution prevention, and uniform standards in compliance with SOLAS and Company policies. This one-month contract assignment aboard the AZAMARA QUEST requires valid STCW certification, fluent English, and the ability to work in close quarters with irregular schedules and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- All valid and up-to-date STCW and other relevant certificates
- Valid STCW95 certification
- Appropriate certification as required by regulations
- Good understanding of exterior maintenance and repair
- Must be fully proficient in operating tender boats and rescue boats
- Extensive experience in subordinate positions and on board passengers ships in a similar role
- Physically and medically fit
- Moral integrity
- Coast Guard and Port State Control experience
- Fluent English (verbal, written and technical)
- Ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms
- Ability to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members
- Ability to stand, walk long distances, reaching and sitting
- Repetitive motion of bending, going up and down stairs, climbing ladders
- Lifting or pushing of up to 50lbs
