Job Summary
Assist with daily deck operations, dredging activities, mooring, anchoring, and berthing while handling ropes, wires, and deck equipment safely. Operate and maintain deck machinery, perform general maintenance tasks like cleaning and greasing, and ensure good housekeeping onboard. Carry out loading, unloading, and securing of materials as instructed by the Master or Deck Officer. Follow all vessel safety procedures, wear required PPE, and participate in emergency drills. Report unsafe conditions or equipment defects immediately. Maintain personal hygiene, discipline, and physical fitness for general deck duties. Valid STCW Basic Safety Training, CDC, and medical certificate required; previous dredger experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Able Seaman or deck crew member
- Valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificates
- Valid CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate)
- Valid medical fitness certificate
- Good swimming ability
- Good knowledge of marine safety procedures, PPE, and safe working practices
- Physically fit and capable of performing general deck duties
- Good personal hygiene, discipline, reliability, and teamwork
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of a marine crew

- Previous experience on a dredger or other marine vessel
