Job Summary
Conduct routine and preventative cleaning in common areas, including all building entrances, stairs, and surfaces at Senate Office Buildings. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot clean floors while gathering and emptying trash containers. Dust lights, ledges, walls, and vents, ensuring proper supplies match each surface. Identify hazards, report broken equipment or policy violations, and maintain assigned equipment. Navigate crowded floor layouts to move between points while interacting with the public positively. Work overnight shifts from 10 pm to 6:30 am, adhering to GGW safety policies and RISE values. Maintain a positive customer focus throughout the role.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to decipher/comprehend signs
- Three-six months previous cleaning or related experience
- Approved custodial training program
- Ability to interact/project with public in a positive and courteous manner
- Ability to navigate through complicated floor layouts to move from point to point in a crowded setting
Desired Qualifications
- One year's previous custodial experience on a federal contract or commercial cleaning site
