Job Summary
Conduct routine and preventative cleaning of Senate Office Buildings common areas, including entrances, stairs, and interior surfaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot clean floors while dusting lights, ledges, walls, and vents. Gather, empty, and sanitize trash containers; identify proper supplies and cleaning materials for each surface. Navigate crowded floor layouts and communicate hazards, supply needs, or equipment repairs. Maintain assigned equipment and back up restroom cleaners as needed. Work overnight shifts from 10 pm to 6:30 am, adhering to GGW safety policies and RISE values. Requires security clearance and three to six months of prior cleaning experience.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to decipher/comprehend signs
- Three-six months previous cleaning or related experience
- Approved custodial training program
- Ability to interact/project with public in a positive and courteous manner
- Ability to navigate through complicated floor layouts to move from point to point in a crowded setting
Desired Qualifications
- One year's previous custodial experience on a federal contract or commercial cleaning site
