Job Summary
ABB OR MMS (Market Management Systems) Applications Engineer is a CONTRACT-TO-HIRE role focused on supporting MMS applications (e.g., SCED, DAM, RUC, CRR, QSE Training Simulator) through design, development, testing, validation, and implementation of modifications. Involves 24/7 on-call market applications support, proactive enhancements, testing with QSEs/LSEs/REs, MMS interface design, and collaboration across multifunctional teams. Senior-level responsibilities include acting as SME/Technical Lead for MMS portfolio projects, mentoring less experienced engineers, and driving go-live implementations. Required: 5+ years of experience, Bachelor's in a related field (Master's preferred), and experience with MMS suites, OSIsoft PI or similar Data Historians, and programming languages (FORTRAN, C, C++, Java, Perl) with PL/SQL. Work location is on-site in Taylor, TX (minimum 2 days/week).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field (Required)
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field (Preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements
- Experience with Hitachi ABB or any MMS vendor suite of applications
- Experience with Data Historians such as OSIsoft PI
- Experience with programming languages such as FORTRAN, C, C++, Java & Perl
- Experience with PL/SQL
