Job Summary
Review and reinforce lessons with individual and small groups of students, reading stories aloud and assisting in math concepts and alphabet recognition. Implement ABA techniques including discrete trials, task analysis, and social skills training while following appropriate prompt hierarchies. Support students with moderate to severe special needs and behavioral challenges by reading and executing Behavior Support Plans, collecting daily data for IEPs, and maintaining instructional materials. Assist with wash-up routines, supervision of meal periods, and clerical tasks such as attendance recording. Foster open communication with school personnel and students to contribute to a warm, inclusive atmosphere.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate degree, or 48 undergraduate college credits
- Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints
- Must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for short periods
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs several times a day
- Must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff members, and the public in person and on the telephone
Desired Qualifications
- Preferably experience with working with students with autism spectrum disorders and/or applied behavior analysis
