Job Summary
Independently manage and carry Accident Benefits & Tort files from opening to closing, preparing documents such as Affidavits of Documents, Medical Briefs, and Notices of Examinations. Draft rough versions of Statements of Claims for slip and fall and motor vehicle incidents, as well as simple motions for adding parties and substitute service. Schedule meetings, obtain and serve productions, and handle client communications while providing general support for counsel. Requires five years of Personal Injury experience with an emphasis on AB & Tort, including knowledge of LAT Applications and Case Conference Summaries. Required Qualifications
- minimum of 5 years of Personal Injury experience
- emphasis on AB & Tort
- experience with preparing and assembling documents like Affidavit of Documents
- experience with preparing and assembling documents like Medical Briefs
- experience with preparing and assembling documents like Notice of Examinations
- basic drafting skills to be able to prepare rough or first drafts of documents like slip and fall Statement of Claims
- basic drafting skills to be able to prepare rough or first drafts of documents like motor vehicle Statement of Claims
- basic drafting skills to be able to prepare rough or first drafts of simple Motions like Motions to add parties
- basic drafting skills to be able to prepare rough or first drafts of simple Motions like for substitute service
- knowledgeable with Preparing LAT Applications
- knowledgeable with Case Conference Summaries
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Desired Qualifications
- A law clerk diploma from a recognized institution
