Job Summary
The AAS/AOS Welding Instructors will oversee student attendance and grades, advise on academic discipline, and maintain safety and proper management of classroom tools. Responsibilities include ensuring fair testing environments, maintaining classroom equipment, and evaluating curriculum relevance. Instructors must demonstrate technical expertise through continuing education and are expected to attend mandatory semi-annual graduation ceremonies. Candidates are required to have an associate degree and relevant welding industry experience, with certifications like AWS CWI being essential.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in welding or a related field
- 4–5 years recent industry experience (NDT, QA, fabrication)
- AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or CAWI with a timeline to achieve CWI
Desired Qualifications
- AWS SCWI (Senior Certified Welding Inspector)
- ASNT Level III in applicable NDT methods (UT, MT, RT, PT, ET)
- OSHA 30
- Radiation Safety or equivalent regulatory training
