Job Summary
Performs installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the residential, commercial, and industrial electrical industry. Reads and interprets blueprints and shop drawings, understands and applies NEC requirements, and ensures compliance with safety standards (OSHA, lockout/tagout). Maintains tools and organizes work areas, climbs ladders/scaffolds, and operates or becomes certified to operate platform and boom lifts. Capable of bending conduit (PVC, GRS, EMT), terminating electrical connections, and wiring colors. Leads and directs junior crew members, plans tasks to meet deadlines, and relays safety instructions. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and enrollment/completion of electrical apprenticeship steps.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalency
- Enrolled in third year electrical apprenticeship classes
- Second year of electrical apprenticeship completed
- Certified to operate platform and boom lifts, or able to obtain certification upon hire
- Ability to bend conduit: PVC, GRS & EMT
- Ability to interpret NEC and shop drawings
- Ability to read and use tape measure
- Knowledge of NEC chapters 1-4, 5-8, and 9 tables
- Fundamental math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing)
- Ability to install duct banks and ensure proper spacing
- Ability to work at heights up to 90 feet
- Ability to work in constricted/closed spaces
- Ability to lift up to 51 lbs
- Strong safety posture aligned with OSHA guidelines
- Team leadership abilities to direct Helpers, A1s, A2s
