Job Summary
A/V Project Manager leads end-to-end AV projects, managing planning, budgeting, scheduling, resources, and client communications. Collaborates with sales, engineering, and installation teams to define scopes and technical requirements; maintains detailed project documentation; coordinates with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and installation; ensures timelines, budgets, safety protocols, and quality standards are met; serves as primary client contact; conducts site visits; identifies risks and implements mitigation; and leads project close-out including final inspections, training, and documentation hand-off. Requires strong knowledge of AV systems (video conferencing, audio, control systems such as Crestron/Extron, digital signage, networking), proficiency with project-management tools, ability to read AV designs/blueprints, and excellent communication and organizational skills; travel to project sites may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience (3–5 years minimum) managing AV integration or live event projects
- Strong knowledge of AV systems including video conferencing, audio systems, control systems (e.g. Crestron, Extron), digital signage, and networking
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana)
- Ability to read and interpret AV system designs and blueprints
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including technicians, engineers, and external vendors
- PMP certification is a plus
- CTS or CTS-D (InfoComm/AVIXA) certification preferred
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel to project sites
