Job Summary
Perform precision assembly and test on complex production and repair actuators for military aircraft flight control systems. Adjust assemblies through shimming and mechanical alignment per blueprint specifications, utilizing dial indicators, calipers, and torque wrenches to maintain dimensional accuracy. Execute various test operations on hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic components to validate acceptance, diagnose common failures, and perform rework as needed. Order parts via RUR and WDS systems and document all replacements and work performed on data sheets. Ensure units are tested in conformance with current revision letters and bring abnormal conditions to the Supervisor's attention. Work onsite in Torrance, CA on the 2nd shift (2:00pm–10:30pm) for our Military Aircraft Group, which designs systems for aircraft like the F-35 and V280 Valor. FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English
- demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Minimum 3 years or more of Assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic)
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is a plus
- FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements
- Ability to read blueprints
- Assembly experience in the Aerospace industry
- Experience performing precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators
- Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers
- Experience with diagnosing/troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures
- Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Possess or be able to obtain Security Clearance
- Must be able to work onsite in Torrance, CA
- Must be available for 2nd shift (2:00pm-10:30pm)
