Job Summary
A&P Mechanic III responsible for repairs, replacement and maintenance of aircraft components. Perform repairs and maintenance, diagnose faults, test parts, interpret schematics/blueprints/manuals, ensure compliance with FAA and international standards, and maintain safety and cleanliness in the hangar/workshop. Requires active FAA A&P certification, English proficiency, own tools, ability to travel, and experience across airframes and engines. Travel, overtime, and potential security clearance may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations
- Must have own tools in good working order
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test
- Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
- Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines
- Preferred: FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience
- Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS
- Background in Aerospace/Defense/DoD or US Military
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance may be required
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent and at typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
- A higher level degree may substitute for experience
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
