Job Summary
Build carbon fiber and mechanical structures for Neutron launch vehicles, including assembly of components and refurbishment of previously flown hardware. Uphold shop cleanliness and organization while integrating mechanical hardware on a cross-functional team. Utilize hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools to perform tasks in varied environments including production floors and elevated heights. Stand and walk for extended shifts, climbing ladders and working in tight spaces as needed. Lift and carry materials up to 25 lbs while performing repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, and pushing. Adhere to proper PPE requirements and maintain flexibility for extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- A&P License
- A&P Certification
- Military experience in fixed or rotor wing maintenance
- Familiarity with hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools
- Experience in mechanical assembly, technical repair, mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance
- 2+ years experience in mechanical assembly, technical repair, mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance
- 5+ years experience in mechanical assembly, technical repair, mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance
- 8+ years experience in mechanical assembly, technical repair, mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance
- Stand and walk for entire shift (8+ hours) on various work surfaces
- Climb ladders and work at elevated height small spaces, awkward positions, and tight areas as needed
- Perform repetitive motions including bending, twisting, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and stooping
- Use hands with precision to handle, control, and operate tools, instruments, and equipment
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 25 lbs
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts as operational needs require
- U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in new space or aerospace industry
- Depot level mechanic work on aircraft
- Military field experience is a significant advantage
- Experience with scheduled maintenance at the C&D check level
