Job Summary
FJCABI is seeking an A&P/IA Mechanic to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections (annual, 100-hour, progressive, etc.), repairs, and alterations on general aviation aircraft at the Abilene Regional Airport maintenance facility. The role requires diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions, ensuring compliance with FARs, manufacturers’ manuals, and service bulletins, documenting work in aircraft logbooks, maintaining a clean work environment, assisting with aircraft movement, and communicating maintenance findings to pilots and other personnel. The candidate must stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes, and adhere to all safety procedures; may perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate
- Inspection Authorization
- Must have own tools
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as an A&P mechanic, in general aviation is strongly desired
- PT6 experience
- King Air experience
- Familiarity with FARs, aircraft inspection and repair requirements
- Computer skills required
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems (airframe structures, engines, propellers, electrical, hydraulic, landing gear, environmental control systems)
- Proven ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
