A Lineman - Overhead (Duke)

Job Summary
Construct and repair electrical overhead distribution systems, performing new construction, maintenance, and live-line work on energized and de-energized powerlines. Lead crew members by conducting pre-job and tailgate safety briefings while training and mentoring apprentices and groundmen. Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and tensioners to install poles, insulators, and conductors, utilizing proper climbing methods for wood, steel, and concrete structures. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of switching, tagging, grounding, and fault locating techniques while adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements. Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind, with availability for outages, storms, and emergency callouts. Travel to different job sites, including out-of-state locations, on short notice.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years of recent overhead line experience
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Willing to travel long distances on short notice
- Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime
- Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation
