Job Summary
Class A Lineman responsible for construction, maintenance and repair of overhead distribution systems. Responsibilities include directing crew in foreman’s absence, hanging and stringing overhead wires, setting poles, installing transformers, arrestors, crossarms and switches, troubleshooting primary and secondary systems, working with energized high voltage, maintaining equipment and PPE, reading job prints, planning safe work, and traveling as needed. Requires climbing various structures, understanding grounding and phasing, ability to work in inclement weather, physical stamina, and English communication. 5+ years field experience preferred; CDL permit required within 60 days; CDL preferred; willingness to travel and work extended hours; safety-conscious with strong team orientation.
Required Qualifications
- 5-year minimum of recent field experience
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English
- Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment
- A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred
- Able to travel long distances on short notice
- Able to work for extended periods in various locations
- Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs
- Willing to work overtime including weekends, holidays
