Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of the Oldsmar Elementary site to ensure a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. Design and implement lesson plans focused on social-emotional learning, academic support, and enrichment while monitoring program quality and compliance with state, county, and YMCA licensing requirements. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff and volunteers, facilitating weekly planning meetings to align activities with core values. Cultivate positive relationships with families, school staff, and community stakeholders by representing the YMCA at functions, PTA meetings, and local events. Manage site finances, including budget preparation, fee collection, and fundraising efforts for the Annual Campaign and special events. Handle all emergency situations, document incidents, and maintain clean, hazard-free program spaces. Maintain accurate records for children, staff, and volunteers while ensuring child protection through reporting suspicious behavior.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a child-related field
- Meet qualifications to be a staff member in charge (SMIC)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in childcare and staff supervision
- Knowledge of youth development practices and child behavior management
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Completion of state-mandated training (MODS)
- Must meet YMCA of the Suncoast driving criteria
- At least 21 years old
- Capable of supervising large groups and managing active children
- Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and sustain physical activity outdoors for extended periods
- Must remain mentally alert and able to follow and give directions

- Promote a culture of philanthropy, volunteerism, and service
- Actively participate in branch and association initiatives aligned with the YMCA mission
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
