988 Mental Health Counselor

Job Summary
Provide evidence-informed crisis intervention, brief supportive counseling, suicide prevention, information, and referral services to individuals contacting the 988 Helpline Center through telephone, SMS text messaging, and web chat. Deliver follow-up services to clients while practicing a wide range of clinical skills in behavioral health. Work independently and as part of a team in a collegial environment using strong oral and written language skills and proficient keyboarding. Complete the role during 12:30-10:30 pm Sunday-Wednesday shifts, with eligibility for shift differentials. A Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field is required, or the ability to obtain one within four weeks of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field

- Applicants must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a collegial group environment
- Strong oral and written language skills
- Working knowledge of computers and software programs
- proficient keyboarding skills
- acceptable background check
